This half circle of glass is called a half round and as a window above another window (or door), it is called a transom. This design type is sometimes called clear stained glass or lead and bevel. While lead and bevel can have color to it, it usually does not and instead lets the shapes created from the lead and the dimensional bevels do all showing off!

This glass was installed right up to the original window which will protect the art glass and provide a wonderful design that adds privacy. Because of the lack of color, it helps if you are thinking of selling your home and do not want someone locked into a certain color. Or maybe you love it so much, you take it with you! Of course, lead and bevel is loved by many and can be enjoyed in your home for years to come!

We love the leadlines drawing your eye to the diamond shaped bevels surrounded by the swooping curls of the lead. A contrasting texture follows the shape of the half round framing the design well.
